This week Charli Cohen showcased ‘Task Force X’ during London Collections Men.
The ‘Task Force X’ SS17 collection takes its inspiration from DC’s Suicide Squad. Military and Prison style uniforms are reworked and references are made to parachute harnesses and broken strait jackets, emphasising freedom and movement. Traditionally restrictive garments become liberated and unbinding.
This collection is created using highly technical, Olympic – level performance fabrics in a range of hues. Red, ecru and army green are seen across the the designs. Returning hero styles are seen in core pieces including the Prism Hoodie, Saber pant and Sansai Coat as well as new detailing in layered belts and bonded eyelets. Lacing and ties are used to shape and fasten sleeves and bold straps sit across the backs of coats creating striking, linear patterns.
The presentation of the latest collection was described by Noctis magazine as ‘effortlessly cool’.
At LCM Charli Cohen also presented a film, titled ‘What Moves You?’. The film explores the journey of seven squad members across the city. Taking further influence from DC’s suicide Squad, the picture is shot in candid, surveillance style footage with the atmosphere tinged with their independence, dynamism and spontaneity. This is what moves this squad. What moves you?
CC is pleased to be welcome the boys to our squad. The new collection lands in November.
